Our company, Pipeline Pressure Isolation Group (PipePIG), has developed a technology which allows operators of pressurized Natural Gas piping systems to affect repairs or modification of their pipeline without the need to vent, blowdown or otherwise evacuate their lines. Our tool, the IsoPig, is an inline, remotely controlled isolation tool, which is pigged to the repair location, just like one would pig a typical smartpig or other piggable device. Once at the repair location, the tools are activated, thereby sealing off the high pressure gas from either side of the repair. Once the repair is concluded, the tools are simply pigged out of the line to the next receiver. There is no need to evacuate, vent or depressurize the line, sparing the environment and helping the operator by saving time and money. |
