Climate Change Coordination Centre (CCCC) was established in 2002. Its overall objective is to maintain ecologically sustainable social and economic development and environmental security of Kazakhstan; to facilitate solution of global, regional, national, and local environmental challenges; and to create national institutional and legal mechanisms for meeting the international obligations, including prevention of global warming, climate change mitigation, ozone layer protection, creating effective institutional and economic instruments for the environment protection, greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
CCCC is the first non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Republic of Kazakhstan working to implement the requirements under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change's (UNFCCC's), Kyoto Protocol. |
