Solusi Mitra Integrasi Teknologi (SMIT) is an energy service company (ESCO) in Indonesia focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy investments through the implementation of small cogeneration systems utilizing natural gas and renewable biogas.
SMIT is active in promoting small cogeneration technology to a target market of cogeneration with capacity range between 30kW and 2MW. The typical fuels utilized by these technologies are natural gas, coal methane gas, and renewable methane biogas. Currently SMIT has also received an inquiry from a mining company to study microturbine technology deployments utilizing the waste coal methane gas for power generation to provide electricity to the people living in rural area and villages in surrounding the coal field resources. In May 2005, SMIT has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with BPPT to develop project to promote Microturbine Cogeneration Application in Indonesia. |
