RUSDEM-EE works to establish an information center for accumulating information on clean energy technologies. These include technologies that use energy from alternative and renewable energy sources, with focus on methane (landfill gas) utilization in Russia. The target area is use of methane from landfills as a source of clean energy. And the objective is to monitor the state of clean energy technologies with development of alternative energy sources in the target area, identify barriers (technical, economic, and legal) hindering introduction and wide- scale deployment of the relevant technologies and best practices in Russia, and further disseminate this information to all parties concerned (research and business communities, regional and local authorities, governmental and non-governmental organizations). |
