The Rural Development Organization (RUDO) is working in two areas; global warming and no tillage farming systems.
Under the global warming area RUDO is working to reduce methane emissions from ruminant animals. The organization is also organizing training for dairy farmers on feeding milk animal with energitic feeds to reduce methane from enteric fermentation. RUDO is also promoting the use of biomass produced in the village to capture methane for fuel.
Under the no tillage farming system; the issue of soil degradation and soil compaction are addressed by no tillage, soil cover, and crop rotation to reduce soil carbon emissions, sequestration of carbon dioxide, and soil as carbon sink. This system is promoted among small farmers. |
