Pact considers emission reduction initiatives as programs to promote sustainable development in developing countries. Through partnership with Fourth Generation, Pact created the Clean Development Alliance www.cleandevelopmentalliance.org to provide services for CDM (Kyoto Protocol) and other voluntary emission reduction mechanisms. The Alliance's business model offers a range of services to strengthen community participation, reduce risks, and promote sustainable development. It also works towards maximizing profits to investors while generating sustainable development and contributing to the development priorities of the host countries.
The Clean Development Alliance has worked extensively in Ecuador, and recently elsewhere, in developing a portfolio of landfill methane capturing and energy generation projects that currently are ranging between the PIN and PDD stages. |
