Finnish Biogas Association is a trade association established in 1991 for promotion of production and use of biogas (BG) and fertilizers mainly from liquid and solid urban, agricultural and industrial biowaste. Synthetic biogas (SBG) production, i.e. thermochemical methane production from waste wood and other biomass, is also included in the activities of the association, as well as wind methane, solar methane and other renewable methane types, although currently those technologies have not yet been taken into use in Finland. Finnish Biogas Association is both a renewable energy organization and a waste management organization. In 1996 Finnish Biogas Association began publishing Biogas Plant Registries, which include biogas production and usage data of all reactor plants and landfill gas plants in Finland. They are available at the www server of the association. Members of the association include biogas producers, biogas technology producers, researchers and consultants. |
