EUCC- The Coastal Union deals with all aspects of coastal and marine issues and uses, including a focus on climate change. Coasts and estuaries can be emitters of methane as a result of decomposition and bacterial processes.
Additionally, methane deposits are also found in ocean waters, often in polar regions, but also in deep cool waters of the Gulf of Cadiz and the Mediterranean Sea. There will be an increasing focus on these coastal and marine sources of methane in the future, particularly given climatic implications. Additionally, Ms. Muir is also involved in arctic sources of methane, whether coastal, marine or tundra, in her role as a Research Associate of the Arctic Institute of North America (www.arctic.ucalgary.ca). |
