Battelle is one of the world’s leading independent consulting, research, and development organizations, with expertise in a variety of sectors. In the oil and gas industry, Battelle has an extensive history of assisting energy industry clients with environmental and safety challenges, and can provide assistance in analyzing GHG emissions and in assessing options for managing them. For example, Battelle provides training and implementation support on the SANGEA™ GHG Emissions Inventory System, a computerized inventory tool developed with the assistance of Battelle staff and now available through the API. Battelle developed the corporate GHG emissions inventory protocol for one of the largest U.S. independent oil producers and are now implementing that protocol using SANGEA™. For IPIECA, API, and OGP, Battelle developed guidelines for reporting GHG emissions in the petroleum industry. Battelle is also a leader in research on reducing GHG emissions through geologic sequestration. |
