Microbial communities associated with agricultural systems are major sources of greenhouse gases such as nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide. The Hess Lab studies how microbial communities in these systems can be manipulated to reduce greenhouse gas emission. Currently, they are developing strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas emission from ruminants, manure, and agricultural soils. |
