Description of Services: |
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM) facilitates, supports and encourages the growth and viability of agriculture in Vermont while protecting the working landscape, human health, animal health, plant health, consumers and the environment.
With biogas specifically, Vermont sees biogas from manure as the most measurable, verifiable way to meet statutory requirements to reduce greenhouse gases in agriculture as defined in the United States Environmental Protection Agency's state inventory tool. We also see it as potentially financially compelling for farmers, especially for the many side benefits typically associated with biogas projects in the agriculture sector. |
