The Center is conducting a study on methane reduction opportunities in the wastewater treatment sector in Kazakhstan. Data on existing sewage treatment plants (STPs) were collected and analyzed. The STPs with the greatest potential were identified, and an initial assessment of electricity generation and CO2 emissions reductions from biogas was conducted. The Center also holds seminars with government representatives, financial institutions, business associations, and enterprises involved in wastewater treatment. |
