The Global Methane Initiative's (GMI) Steering Committee convened for its 12th annual in-person meeting on 18-19 November 2019 in Paris, France. The 2-day meeting took place at the United Nations Environment Programme, UNESCO headquarters annex, hosted by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) secretariat.
The meeting focused on preparations for the Global Methane Forum 2020, the current status and future plans for the Global Methane Challenge, the process for rechartering the GMI beyond 2021, and GMI Subcommittee updates. The meeting also included a panel session with guest speakers sharing their perspectives on opportunities for collaboration on methane mitigation.
